You got questions about me and my site? Good. Because I have answers…
This is probably the hardest question to answer – where do I begin? I’m a 30-something teacher and writer who has more stories than you can shake a stick at. I have a passion for helping people, and I do anything to make people laugh. I have a very tight knit family that I love dearly that you’ll hear about often. What else do I like to do besides write and teach kids how to do important stuff? I do a little cooking, a little reading, and a little shopping before collapsing at night with my cat, Boo Boo Kitty, by my side.
What?I call this a “lifestyle blog with spirit” because our spiritual health affects every single area of our lives, from our physical health to our mental health to our relationships. When we connect to God and our faith, we can be healthier and happier in all areas of our lives, and who doesn’t want that? So what can you expect? A little bit of everything because that’s life! I use stories from my own life to share the lessons I’ve learned to make life better. I also share recipes, books, prayers, poems, and other great resources that I’ve found helpful and inspirational. And most importantly, there will always be plenty of motivation and inspiration and hopefully a few laughs. You can check back Monday through Friday for my latest posts, or you can subscribe at the top of the page to get posts delivered right to you!
Why?Although I am Catholic, I use “zen” to describe my purpose because to me it means a sense of peace no matter what else is going on (plus, it totally helps that it rhymes with my name). I’ll be honest, I’ve been through some pretty rough things in my life, and I can admit that perhaps the way I’d handled it didn’t help at all. I let my outside circumstances affect how I was feeling and responding. Well after a more recent road bump in my life, it hit me – the only way life was going to get easier was finding my own zen, finding my own peace. And the only way I’ve found to do that is a connection to God and my faith. We are never promised easy or perfect lives, quite frankly, we’re warned they’re going to be difficult. But we’re also told we can find peace in God. And I believe that with all my heart. If it weren’t for my faith, for my constant searching and finding of God, I wouldn’t and won’t make it through any of the difficult parts of my life. And while I am no expert, I don’t know everything, and I can’t be your guide so to speak, what I can be is your companion, walking with you through those difficult periods of your life.
