So my Monday Motivation question comes from Pinterest, and it starts out, “If God answered all your prayers…”  So before we get to the rest of the question, think about what that would actually mean.  If God answered all of your prayers, what would your life look like? If God answered all of your prayers, what would your relationships look like?  If God answered all of your prayers, what would be different from how things are now?  So really think about it, picture it, get the feeling of it all.

Now let’s finish the question, because this might just change what you’re praying for…

If God Answered All Of Your Prayers, Would The World Look Different Or Just Your Life?

I don’t know about you, but quite often I get caught up in me, me, me, I want this, I need that, getting this would really help me out.  But are any of us put on this earth to keep to ourselves or to only focus on ourselves?

It’s okay to want and need things for yourself, but it’s important to remember that you are not the center of the universe.  There are bigger things out there then wanting a new car or needing a new job.  When you focus just on yourself, you tend to lose that connection to God, and when you lose that connection to God, you tend to lose your purpose, the reason you were put here in the first place.

So when I start getting all me, me, me instead of we, we, we, I ask myself that question, “If God answered all of your prayers, would the world be different or just your life?” It helps bring me perspective, realize that I’m being a smidge self-centered, and remind me that there are other people out there who need help and need prayers. It also reminds that when I work to help others and focus on that instead of my own problems (some of which are maybe a little petty), that it just feels right.

So I encourage you to ask yourself that question and really think about it.  If it seems like it’s all just about you (because there’s nothing wrong for praying for your own needs), how can you change that? What else can you focus on? How can you help someone this week?

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and are ready for this week!

Much Love,

Jen
